Rhododendron Clearance - Offwell Woods 14th Sept 26

We will be undertaking rhododendron clearance throughout the woodland starting on Monday 14th September due to favourable weather. This initial work will last for about 7 days.

During this period, we will be clearing the invasive Rhododendron Ponticum (that is located throughout both woods) starting in Scrub wood and will be using a combination of removal methods. A remote-controlled roboflail, manual cutting, and targeted herbicide application.

Key Information & Considerations

• Working Hours: Operations will run daily between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM weather permitting.
  

• Noise & Dust: The roboflail will generate noticeable noise during operating hours. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we carry out this vital work.
  

• Chemical Safety: Where herbicides will be used it will be applied directly to cut stumps by trained operators using strict safety protocols to avoid impacting non-target species.
  

• Dog Owners: Please keep dogs on leads in adjacent areas during this week to ensure they do not stray into active work zones.

We will be placing signs up to indicate the areas we are working. Please do not cross these notices during the working times of day.
